Stories of the kind of courage, frailty,
and growth that make us who we are.
Welcome to my writing space. I am an author, teacher, student and mentor, and I hope what you find in these pages
leaves you with the feeling that it's not just you - that we are all a little bit broken, a little wonderful, a little bit nowhere-near-perfect,
a little splash of colourful... and that's what makes us human. And that is extraordinary enough.

Stay a while. Look around. Sign up for my monthly newletter below, and drop me line. I'd love to hear from you.

Nadine's memoir, "Wobbles - An Olympic Story" takes you inside the raw emotion of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the shock of a broken neck and the struggle to find balance in a life driven by the search for the perfect race. This candid and fresh insight into the world of elite-level swimming spans her career from the dream to what happens to an athlete after the show is all over. This is a story about an ordinary girl who wanted something extraordinary; a story about striving, about growing and learning from life, whatever it may hold. A must-read for every aspiring athlete, and for all those supporting the dreams of the next generation.
Nadine is an expereinced motivational speaker and workshop facilitator, engaging groups from large multinational corporations to intimate groups of school students. She speaks on a range of topics, and  with her diverse experience in motivation, education, psychology and youth work, Nadine tailors programs to her participants' needs. Writing as therapy, creative self-expression and experimental exploration are central to the workshops she designs to engage, empower and equip participants with personal insight, healthy relationship strategies, effective communication skills and tools to set goals and stay motivated when things get hard.
When Nadine's "normal athlete" life ended and her "normal person" life began, she found herself catastrophically out of her depth. She spent years drifting aimlessly,  in search of the instruction manual to being normal, and eventually had to concede that she was never going to master the art of the every-day. So, when she began writing and rediscovered the joy of delving into a task and losing yourself completely, she found that there really is no such thing as "normal", but rather a world of individuals' stories yet to be told...
And then she had children, and in the absence of sleep, coherent thought streams and silent spaces, blogging was born.
